Fine Art by Loreen

Dearest Friends and family,

Ever since I was young, I have wanted to be a missionary. To travel to new places, meet new people, experience new cultures, telling the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My missionary work has taken many shapes and forms over the last few decades, but it continues to show up in beautiful and unexpected ways. My trip to Uganda in April, reminded me that I am, in my heart of hearts, still a missionary and I always will be.

By the time you receive this newsletter, we will have been in our house for 1 year! And it happens that now that we have settled into our house, that my mission field is also right here! In my back yard, in my kitchen and dining room, in the basement and even my studio! While I was in Italy, I was struck by the beauty of the churches. All the sacred art in those churches are telling a story. All the stained glass, the sculptures, and the paintings are messengers of the gospel as well, telling the story of Jesus Christ. So this year, I decided to take a hiatus on actively selling my art and concentrate on a series of paintings that I have wanted to do for a long time – Stories of Jesus, his life, death and resurrection. So in this way my studio is a mission fieldwhile I tell that Good News of Jesus on my canvas, as it comes alive at the end of my paint brush.

Speaking of paint brushes! I am so excited to announce the launch of Esperanza Studio, where your creativity will be unleashed in a fun, safe and happy place! This is truly a dream come true for me. I love teaching and helping people express themselves through paint! Just another opportunity to act upon my vocation as a missionary, in the most fun and exciting way, because the good news didn’t end with sadness and death, the new story began with life, victory and joy! What a great way to celebrate the life-giving joy that God has given us through color, paint and fellowship!

All my love to you,
Loreen
